David Yarrow

David Yarrow was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1966. He took up photography at an early age and as a 20-year-old found himself working as a photographer for The London Times on the pitch at the World Cup Final in Mexico City. On that day, David took the famous picture of Diego Maradona holding the World Cup and, as a result, was subsequently asked to cover the Olympics and numerous other sporting events. Many years later David established himself as a fine art photographer by documenting the natural world from new perspectives and the last nine years have been career defining.

Terence Donovan Archive

Terence Donovan was born, the only child of a working class family, in East London in 1936. Fascinated by photographs and photographic processing as a young boy, his professional life started at the age of 11 at the London School of Photo-Engraving, which he left at 15 to become a photographer’s assistant. After a year at the John French studio (1957–58) he left, opening his own first photographic studio in 1959 at the age of 22.

In the 1970s Donovan decided to diversify to concentrate on advertising photography and the moving image. By the 1980s much of his time was spent making award-winning television commercials and advertising campaigns, while still shooting still photographs for fashion magazines and newspapers and covering the fashion collections twice a year for Harper’s Bazaar (Italy). He was a pioneer of the pop promotional video, most famously for Robert Palmer’s song Addicted to Love (1986), for which he was nominated one of Vanity Fair magazine’s ‘People of the Decade’ in 1989.

Prints For Conservation

Prints for Conservation showcases photographers images in support of conservation. We aim to bolster and raise awareness of conservative organisations whose invaluable efforts do not receive sufficient recognition. These groups have critical roles to play in the survival of wildlife and in sustaining habitats. All are 100% donor funded and are being severely impacted by the collapse in tourism resulting from the global pandemic. (At the same time, commercial and bush meat poaching of wildlife are expected to increase in tandem with rises in unemployment.)

Our photographers, have a parallel involvement in and passion for conservation. They too have been hit hard. Each limited edition image is printed on gallery quality paper and delivered to your doorstep. The cost is all inclusive, covering printing, packaging, shipping. A percentage of every sale will be donated to different conservation each month. Some of the supported conservation groups are For Rangers, Tsavo Trust and Mara Elephant Project.

Curaty champions the patronage of exceptionally talented early career artists. Less than 33% of fine art graduates receive gallery representation or paid exhibition opportunities in the first five years after university. Curaty provides artists the platform to showcase their work in public and private spaces, whilst being paid. Often our exhibitions will be their first show after graduation. We recruit primarily from art schools across London and strongly believe in fair-pay for our artists.
